Herb Baker
Lead Pastor
Herb Baker serves as Pastor at Canopy. He has been in the pastorate since 1987. He was part of core group who planted Canopy in the fall of 2007. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in psychology. He graduated with a Masters in Biblical Studies from Criswell Graduate School in Dallas, TX.
Over the years Pastor Herb has been involved in the community leading men’s luncheons, Bible studies, mission trips and evangelistic crusades. He has also used his extensive background in athletics and his love for kids by coaching various children’s and youth sports teams.
Janet is the creative force beside Herb and serves diligently as Pastor’s wife. Janet and Herb have three married daughters – Whitney, married to Dr. Luke Lenci with four children in Springfield, MO. Blaire is married to Josh Nielsen with two children and another on the way in Niwot, CO. Haley is married to Cap. Cayden Shockley with two children in Manhattan, KS.
