E-News 3.8.24
Donate gently worn, used and new shoes for a fundraiser for Medical Missions for Christ through March 10, 2024.
The shoes they collect go beyond raising funds for their organization, they are given a second life with those in need. The collected shoes are used to support micro-enterprise vendors. Micro-enterprises are small businesses in developing nations. They are typically operated by one person or family and friends, depending on size.
Their goal is 2500 pairs of shoes! Please help them in meeting/exceeding this goal!
Please either rubber band shoes together or bag them together. There will be a basket inside the front door of Canopy that you can drop them in through March 10!

This week we will discuss the security of the believer in Christ.
You have been declared righteous with Christ’s righteousness. This had nothing to do with your effort or good works. You have been made alive with Christ’s life. This had nothing to do with your effort or good works. You have been united with Christ’s life. This had nothing to do with your effort or good works. You have been given a position of a son in God’s family as an heir with Christ. This had nothing to do with your effort or good works. You have been accepted by God due to Christ’s performance. This had nothing to do with your effort or good works.
Is your life in Christ secure? Is your security affected by your effort or your good works? What is the difference between assurance of salvation and security of salvation?
What do the following verses have to say about the security of the believer?
John 6:39,40
John 10:27-30
1 John 5:13
1 Peter 1:3-5
If you believe you can lose your salvation, how does that affect your daily walk with Christ? Explain.

Canopy answered a call for help and WOW! THANK YOU!
John Seward asked a few Sundays ago for some help with finishing renovations on a house for a woman named, Tiffany. She lost her husband in December in a motorcycle accident. He was mid-renovation on their house. John started helping her, but was running into problems finding others to help. Daniel Zumwalt suggested they put the need out to the body of Canopy AND WOW! The response has been overwhelming to say the least!
In just a few short weeks, many projects have been completed or are near completion because of the care and kindness of some compassionate Jesus followers!
"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father mean scaring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."
James 1:27
THANK YOU ALL!!!
